Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using LearnIT, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use LearnIT.
1) About LearnIT
LearnIT is a cybersecurity learning and competition platform hosting challenges across categories (e.g., web, crypto, forensics). LearnIT is provided “as is” and may change over time.
2) Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be capable of forming a binding contract and meet any age requirements in your jurisdiction.
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You’re responsible for activity under your account.
- We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts for policy breaches or risk to the platform/users.
3) Acceptable Use
- Use LearnIT only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
- Do not interfere with or disrupt the platform, abuse resources, or attempt to access other users’ data.
- No malware, exploit kits, or content that infringes third-party rights.
4) CTF Rules (Very Important!)
- Stay within scope. Only interact with hosts, ports, and endpoints explicitly provided for a challenge.
- No production attacks. Do not attack learn-it.org infrastructure outside of designated targets.
- No denial-of-service. DDoS, brute-forcing shared infrastructure, or automated flooding is prohibited.
- Responsible behavior. Don’t share flags/solutions publicly while events are live; report platform bugs privately.
- Fair play. No collusion or use of stolen/leaked materials to gain advantage.
5) User Content & Intellectual Property
- You own your submissions (write-ups, code, challenge solutions). You grant LearnIT a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, use, modify, and display your content solely to operate and promote LearnIT (including leaderboards and first-blood badges).
- Do not upload content you don’t have rights to. Respect others’ IP and privacy.
- LearnIT trademarks, logo, and site materials are owned by us or our licensors; no license is granted except as expressly stated.
6) Scoring, Badges & Leaderboards
- Points, badges, and rankings are for community recognition and may be adjusted to maintain fairness and integrity.
- We may review and revoke points for rule violations, collusion, or abuse.
7) Third-Party Links & Resources
Challenges may link to third-party resources. We are not responsible for those sites or their policies.
8) Disclaimers
LEARNIT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT). We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9) Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LearnIT and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost profits, even if advised of the possibility. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to LearnIT will not exceed the greater of €50 or the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim.
10) Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LearnIT from claims arising out of your use of LearnIT, your content, or your violation of these Terms or law.
11) Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate access at any time for suspected policy violations, legal compliance, or security risks. You may stop using LearnIT at any time; sections that by nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, liability limits) will survive termination.
12) Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bucharest, Romania. (Update this section if your company is based elsewhere.)
13) Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice. By continuing to use LearnIT after changes take effect, you accept the revised Terms.
